GA1 Anamix Junior

GA1 Anamix Junior is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision.

GA1 Anamix Junior is a lysine-free, low tryptophan powder drink mix containing a balanced mix of the other essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, fat (including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)), vitamins, minerals, trace elements and fiber.

Must be used under medical supervision. Not for parenteral use. Suitable for children 1 -10 years of age. Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition. GA1 Anamix Junior (Neutral) should not be used as a sole source of protein but must be given in conjunction with natural protein and other nutrients to supply the lysine, tryptophan, fluid and general nutrition requirements of the patient in medically prescribed quantities. 

For the dietary management of proven Glutaric Aciduria Type I (GA1). Suitable for 1-10 years old children.

The quantity of GA1 Anamix Junior should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on age, bodyweight, and medical condition of the patient.

THE HEALTH OF THE PATIENT DEPENDS ON CAREFULLY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS FOR PREPARATION AND USE.

Recommended Feed Concentration is 18g powder (2 scoops) made up with 50ml of water to a final volume of approx. 63ml or 36g powder (4 scoops) made up with 100ml of water to a final volume of approx. 126ml.

Water or additional fluid should be offered at the same time as GA1 Anamix Junior (Neutral) to ensure adequate fluid intake.

1. Wash hands. Use clean equipment to prepare feed.

2. Measure the required amount of cold water into a container and add the prescribed quantity of GA1 Anamix Junior (Neutral).

3. Cover and shake the product until the powder has dissolved.

4. Once reconstituted, store in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours.

5. Shake or stir the product immediately before use.

In order to aid the transition from GA1 Anamix Infant to GA1 Anamix Junior (Neutral), a progressive increase in concentration may be used, f. ex. from 2 scoops/100 ml of water to targeted 4 scoops/100 ml of water.

If given orally, GA1 Anamix Junior is best served chilled.

 

Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Once opened, reseal can and use within 2 weeks.
