PKU Nutri 2 Energy is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision.
PKU Nutri 2 Energy is an unflavoured powder free from phenylalanine but containing a balanced mixture of the other essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.
For the dietary management of proven phenylketonuria (PKU) in children over the age of one year.

Store in a cool, dry place. Always replace container lid after use. Once opened, use within one month. Once reconstituted, the prepared feed should be stored in a refrigerator and must not be kept longer than 24 hours from the time of preparation. Stir or shake immediately before use.
Must only be used under strict medical supervision. Not intended for use as the sole source of nutrition. Not for parenteral use. Not suitable for metabolic disorders other than PKU. Diet must be supplemented with natural protein and other nutrients in medically prescribed quantities to supply the phenylalanine and general nutritional requirements of the patient.
PKU Nutri 2 Energy is best served as a chilled drink. Add the prescribed amount of powder to a shaker, add the desired volume of water and shake. It is recommended that the patient starts at a 1 to 5 dilution (e.g. 100g PKU Nutri 2 Energy plus 500mls water) and builds up to a 1 to 4 dilution (e.g. 100g PKU Nutri 2 Energy plus 400mls water).
• 1 scoop PKU Nutri Energy 2 unflavoured = 4.9 gram
• 3 scoops PKU Nutri Energy 2 unflavoured = 14.7 gram = 4.0g PE

1 to 5 (i.e. 100 g powder plus 500 ml water) = 720 mOsmol/kg H2O
1 to 4 (i.e. 100 g powder plus 400 ml water) = 910 mOsmol/kg H2O
These dilutions are guidelines only. PKU Nutri 2 Energy may be given in a more concentrated form e.g. a paste or concentrated drink; water or chilled drinks should be offered at the same time.
